A & A Customs Brokers, a client of iKrave Entertainment Group, was looking to have their current static HTML based NRI tutorial converted to a more engaging, animated format. Click on the graphic below to see the play-through ad which, on the client's site, automatically loads the tutorial once it's finished. Click here to see the tutorial on its own.
The other project completed for A & A Customs Brokers was a continuously playing kiosk presentation which would allow customers waiting for service to become aware of all the services being offered to them. The presentation's load time and how it displays will vary depending on your internet connection and your monitor resolution as it was not meant for the web.
This is the super cool 2001 online exhibition featuring the paintings of Bradford Carrie. It is no longer live but viewable here from the DID servers. For search engine optimization (SEO) reasons pertaining to his new site, this version has been password protected. Both the username and the password are "bc" - both are case sensitive and shouldn't include the quotes. Once there, click on the "Info" tab for instructions on how to explore the unique Flash-based virtual gallery with it's "inertia" scrolling engine. Credit goes to Australian Tony David Cray for supplying the (groundbreaking at the time) code. Tony built the virtual tour of The Sydney Opera House with this code.
Who doesn't like Chocolate? Offering a global variety of chocolates and elegant presentation is the very essence of Chocoatl, located in Vancouver's über trendy Yaletown district. Their participation in the Wedding Fair required a brochure reflective of these qualities. It even came with three chocolate samples! They were far too delicious for me to stop at 3 though. Oh, and try their hot chocolate...I'm serious.
Working with Wasserman & Partners, the look of the Credit Unions of British Columbia site was updated to incorporate elements from their newest ad campaign and contests. DID also created banner advertising for this campaign. They have updated their campaign since this site was developed so clicking on the logo below will pull up an image of the site DID designed.
Dish Jeans, a popular line of jeans for women, came to me when looking a CDROM for their "Denim Deconstructed" presentation series. This was a series of educational presentations made to retailers carrying the line. They were very pleased with the results (see the "letters/notes of reference" link in the Testimonials section).
October 17 Media approached me to handle the art direction of this Flash-based project for Future Shop, which is to run alongside the NHL playoffs. "Build your Hockey Playoff Pad" required my creating every separate element in this room; floor and wall colour/textures, shelving units, and every item or piece of furniture you can select from. These were either illustrated or taken from photographs. The final product changed a tiny bit visually after I handed it off to the Flash developers in Australia, but the overall design integrity was intact. It's no longer live as the playoffs are over, so what you see when you click the logo below are screenshots of 3 room variations taken from my original designs.
Up and coming country star Jordan Doell came to me with some great photos by Ian Hylands and asked if I'd create the visual identity for his latest album, "Politically Incorrect." I came up with the logo, all the album artwork, the tour apparel graphics, and the digital download card and we gave his website a little "Politically Incorrect" makeover.
I've just learned that "Politically Incorrect" has been nominated by the BCCMA for Album of The Year and the website for Website of the Year!
Jordan was looking for something to hand out to fans at a live event and thought temporary tattoos just the thing. The goal was to appeal to both male and female fan alike, so how about this little guy's blend of cool and adorable?
As Interactive Art Director for OnTrack Media, I directed the creative design for the Nero website. There were 17 unique page templates and 55 variant page templates created for the site which launched in time to promote the release of their marquee product, Nero 8. Nero handled the development of the over 250 additional site pages.
Project Industries Clothing Company (or simply Project Industries) is my other artistic endeavor. The site and e-commerce compontent feature my limited edition designs for apparel. Who doesn't dig hoodies and tees right? Right.
Other than the coding of the site I was responsible for everything else; conceptualizing and design of the logo and the website, booking the models, photographer and the location for the photoshoot (which I also directed), and designing the look book. Oh and the apparel...I designed that too.
Vancouver's RC Lair, a print graphic designer, asked DID for a web presence to showcase his design work. He specifically wanted it to be based on his uniquely typeset resume, which is a PDF viewable by clicking the Resume link on the site. This site is no longer live so what you're seeing is sitting on the DID servers.
Kristin Balter's interior design company, Renovation X Design, required a website which reflected the cutting edge, contemporary style of her interior designs. We were pleased at the quality of photography she supplied us with so it was decided that the photos would be the main focal point of the site.
Rumour Has It Entertainment came to us with a need for a networking website to be built in phases. Phase I included the bulk of the work. It allows people from many different industries to create profiles so that they can get the "rumour" out about what they offer. The site also features venue and event listings. The backend CMS allows the client to moderate all user-generated content prior to having it appear on the site, as well as administrate the actual site content.
Victoria law firm Shields Harney wanted to update their web presence and keep site maintenance costs down. They were looking to stay away from the typical imagery that is usually associated with law, such as scales of justice, gavels, large pillared courthouses, etc. The new online presence we designed for them is a contemporary, clean and, in my opinion, very cool law firm website. I also developed the 'SH' logo used on the site.
As Interactive Art Director for OnTrack Media, I directed the creative design for the Space4Lease website -- a site geared to assisting businesses in the location of, well, space for lease. Some graphic elements have been changed by the client since the site launched but the overall design integrity is intact.
Stephanie approached me and wanted a one stop source for all the stationery for her upcoming wedding to James Wagner. I handled all design and oversaw the printing. Once I designed the "SJ" monogram, printed assets included invitations and RSVP cards, programs, table number cards and table place setting name cards (except calligraphy on both) and thank you cards. *Note that the small circles on the invitation and program covers are placeholders for small gems placed by the bride, which you can see in the gallery (image 9 of 9) by clicking the monogram below.
The Student Yard Works site features an online booking system allowing new and returning customers to book their yard work and receive estimates online. It allows crews to access their daily schedules remotely. The whole site is controlled by a customized administration tool with 3 levels of secure access.
DID built three sites for True Worth Realty, the design company run by one of Vancouver's premiere interior designers, Thu Watson. DID designed the logo and built the administration tool allowing the client to update the content and/or the images appearing in the Gallery and News sections (while this version of the site was live).
For search engine optimization (SEO) reasons pertaining to the current TWR site, these versions have been password protected. The username for all versions is "twr" and the password is "twr" - both are case sensitive and shouldn't include the quotes.
The first two sites: V1.0 and V2.0
Not all features of these sites function as they did when they were live.
While employed as Interactive Art Director at Tugboat Media I oversaw the art direction of 4 different projects -- all of which were coded by the Tugboat development team.
Just Ask Baby is a fun and informative video driven site and online community for new parents wanting to get some insight on their child's development from a scientific perspective.

A Vancouver Canucks site just for youths aged 8-16...the Vancouver Canucks C-Force Junior Fan Club. I built some of the games on the original site back in 2001 (viewable in the Just For Fun section of this site). Hockeypeg and Linden's Paint Shop were updated in 2007 with the Canuck's new look and are viewable in the Games section of the NHL team's site.
Voip Technology Inc., a Vancouver based company offering Voice Over IP technology solutions, needed a complete branding solution. Brand assets provided included a corporate logo, an icon set, the website with a client managed administration tool and a brochure package. The site is currently on our servers while the client decides on a host. To see the complete package, visit the Case Study section of this site.
